Artificial colorings are also used to give them their cheesy look, which may be sourced from non-halal sources. It is haram for Muslims to consume as it contains animal ingredients or by-products like beef and pork. No, Cheetos don’t have any alcohol in them whatsoever. However, they may contain pork byproducts such as artificial coloring derived from insects, which are prohibited from consumption by Muslims. Again, if pork or beef isn’t actually present, then any food made from their byproducts would be halal. For example, the red “cheese” powder is made from a mixture of corn starch and tallow (cow fat). It’s just that how they are made, such as pork or beef byproducts or food coloring that can be derived from insects, makes them haram for Muslims to consume.Īnother point to consider is how some parts of Cheetos contain pork or beef byproducts as ingredients. The fact is that Cheetos are artificially created and don’t contain pork or beef. However, if it were true, any food containing these ingredients would have been halal. For example, all of the artificial colors that are used in Cheetos can be derived from insects or genetically modified materials (GMOs), which Muslims are prohibited from consuming according to Islamic law.Īnother reason why many people think Cheetos are halal is that they think they just contain pork or beef. It is common for the ingredients and manufacturing processes found in Cheetos to be haram for Muslims. One example of this is all the artificial colors used in Cheetos which can be derived from insects, which Muslims cannot eat because of the Islamic rule stating that one should avoid “unclean” food.Īnother example is when they are fried in a joint that has been used to fry other foods before, however, there is no Islamic rule against this practice. This is because of the way they can be processed. Another ingredient that might be haram is whey, which can also be derived from pork or beef residue.Įven if the ingredients are not made from pork or beef, they can be haram for Muslims to consume. One of the haram ingredients is Monosodium glutamate (MSG), which can be derived from either pork or beef residue, both of which are haram for Muslims to eat. They contain many ingredients that can be haram (unlawful) for Muslims to consume. Cheetos are not considered halal because of their ingredients and how they are made. I was legitimately scared after about 15 minutes that I might somehow damage my eye from it.No, Cheetos are not halal. ![]() I feel fine afterward it is extremely irritated but nothing hurts or even feels weird sight wise. It actually got finally better like nothing ever happened but it took so long and I was afraid and I actually had an employee over here from hoffsauce company who has had so many terrible pepper experiences with the eyes, And he was very surprised by how bad my eye ended up. I could barely open my other eye but despite not finding anything about the platinum 4x version it seemed that basic Dawn was generally safe so I used a very small amount twice and I don't think it helped at all by the time just because it was still burning so much on the outside of my eyelid all over the entire thing was inflamed and the inside was all concentrated and the corner of my eye just where it started and so it was disappointing that I could not seem to affect the corner of my eye where it was worst. The first two to three minutes I was just in my kitchen using water from the faucet and still talking to my guests and then after a while I went to the bathroom and then a little while later I came out for my phone to try to figure out if there's some way that my eye could actually be damaged from this because it's getting worse somehow and I needed to find out if I could use Dawn Platinum dish soap because that's all I have on my eye safely. Why does this last so much longer sometimes than others? This was the worst I've ever experienced. At one point I was afraid I had a pepper seed under my eyelid somehow. It took an hour at least to stop burning and I had Dawn dish soap rubbing it on the outside of my high and wasn't sure why this one lasted so much longer. But for some reason tonight, literally right after I had guests come over while I was finishing up food and added a little more hot sauce finished up my food and was washing my hands and we were talking and I rub my eyes and I realized I rubbed hot sauce in my eyes. I had the worst burn of my life tonight from a scorpion pepper sauce that I've totally had in my eyes several other times because I've been using this sauce for years as it's a Trinidadian sauce that my dad brings back for me.
